WRANGLER JOB DESCRIPTION
Sorrel River Ranch is a Four Diamond luxury guest ranch located along the scenic Colorado River surrounded by 2,000-foot high cliffs, buttes and mesas. This exclusive 240-acre riverside oasis is 17 miles from Moab, 21 miles from Arches National Park and 43 miles from Canyonlands National Park.
Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa is looking for a Wrangler to join our team.
POSITION PURPOSE:
- Responsible for conducting safe trail rides and safety of staff and guests on horseback as well as in the barn area.
- Behave as a leader within the Sorrel hospitality team and encourage and support the team to deliver our products and services to the highest possible standard every day.
- Liaise clearly and calmly with all necessary members of Sorrel.
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
- Job duties include but are not limited to; cleaning corral area, barn and maintenance of all tack and equipment, keeping files up to date, maintaining health and welfare of the herd and any other tasks as assigned.
- Work closely with Barn Supervisor and Guest Experience Manager to make sure the guests get to experience the most out of their stay.
- Complete any other duties that may become necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven horse skills with solid guest service experience as well.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with horses and previous western riding experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be safety conscious and possess the ability to instruct guests.
- Some veterinarian knowledge and previous experience teaching lessons, a plus.
- Must be willing to learn the local area and the other amenities offered by the resort.
- Able to work well on a team with different personalities.

- Time worked as a Wrangler.
- Confident, personable, and sophisticated.
- Thrives under pressure.
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Must supply own uniform.
- Must be 18 years of age.

We have limited rental housing available on a first come, first served basis. Starting rate of pay will be based on level of experience.
