Due to current staffing needs we are prioritizing applicants with morning program availability (Monday 7am-10am & Tuesday - Friday 7am-9am)

Camp Fire Alaska aims to help youth develop social, emotional, physical, and academic skills that will help them see and reach their full potential. We do that by facilitating hands-on, educational activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, structured play and more, all in a safely organized before and after school program setting.

Before and After School Program Staff positions available in elementary schools in Anchorage and Eagle River. Programs run from 7-9am (7-10am on Monday) and again from 3:15-6:15pm, Monday through Friday. Program operates through the school year, beginning August 7, 2023 with training and ending with closeout on May 22, 2024.


Available Placements: 

  • Morning (Monday 7am-10am Tuesday - Friday 7am-9am)
    • Alpenglow - Chester Valley - Chugiak - Denali - Inlet View - Muldoon - O'Malley - Ravenwood - Scenic Park - Trailside - Tyson 
  • Afternoon (Monday - Friday 3:15pm - 6pm)
    • Government Hill - Inlet View - Scenic Park - Aquarian Charter


Position:

Program Staff: Work between 25 to 29 hours per week (average) at $17.07 per hour supervising activities with groups of up to 10 kids.

  • Qualifications –
    • Minimum age limit is 16 years old
    • Ability to transport yourself to work (school site, Camp Fire office)
    • Experience working with kids in a group setting is preferred
    • Experience, training, or education in youth development, education, or recreation is preferred


REQUIREMENTS: (can be acquired after hire with agreed upon schedule): Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED & First Aid; Food Worker Card; Mandated Reporter training certificate; Health & Safety certificate.
