Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in fish and wildlife management, natural resources, biological sciences, or related field AND three years' experience in fish and wildlife management, natural resources, biological sciences, or related field; OR Master's degree in fish and wildlife management, natural resources, biological sciences, or related field AND one year of experience in fish and wildlife management, natural resources, biological sciences, or related field. Other: Driver's license required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Extensive knowledge of wildlife habitat management principles; wildlife species; life history and habitat needs; research, statistics, budgeting processes and record keeping systems; and conservation statutes and regulations as they relate to wildlife as well as a working knowledge of current management philosophies, such as the conservation of biological diversity; landscape ecology and adaptive management. Ability to communicate effectively; set goals and objectives; perform heavy physical labor and work outdoors for long periods of time; operate and maintain hand and power tools including chain saws, tractors and trucks; work with little supervision; supervise and direct the work of others and develop and maintain professional relations with a broad range of agencies and publics.
