We are seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Maintenance Manager, responsible for the overall operations of Stonewater. Stonewater is nestled in the heart of the cascades on 158 acres just 30 minutes from the beautiful town of Leavenworth, WA. It is an ideal playground during all four seasons. The Assistant Maintenance manager is responsible for working with the Maintenance/ Facilities Manager to maintain and improve the equipment, facilities, and grounds of Stonewater. This position is a 40 hr/wk full-time position. This position is dynamic and will never be boring, with 158 acres, 10 buildings, and multiple outbuildings. You will get to use and learn valuable skills, be a part of a team, and work outdoors. 


Reports to: Stonewater Maintenance/ Facilities Manager, Stonewater Director

Supervises: Volunteers, Seasonal Staff


Responsibilities

  1. Equipment Maintenance: Inspecting, diagnosing, testing, and repairing heavy equipment, cars and trucks, mowers, misc. small engines. Performing preventative maintenance. 
  2. Facilities Maintenance: Identifying, diagnosing, and repairing basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues. Installing and repairing drywall, trim, and other aesthetics. 
  3. Grounds Maintenance: Mowing, weed whacking, debris cleanup. Operating sprinkler systems. Upkeep and repair of irrigation infrastructure. Seasonal snow plowing.
  4. Special Projects: Planning and executing major facility or grounds projects within a timeframe and budget. Manage resources and scope of priorities.

  7. Communication: Is able to present written and verbal thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively to various audiences.


 Desired Skills/ Experience:

  1. Basic understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance.
  2. Can operate and repair small engines.
  3. Can safely operate a chainsaw.
  4. Can drive a manual transmission.
  5. Basic understanding of electricity in the home.
  6. Basic understanding of plumbing in the home.
  7. Can safely operate woodworking equipment such as table saw, chop saw, planer, band saw. 
  8. Can safely operate heavy equipment such as tractor, bulldozer, excavator. 
  9. Can operate riding lawn mowers(zero turn).


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ GED 
  • Valid Drivers License  
  • Can pass Stonewater Physical Test


On the Job Training:

Employee will be expected to work with the Maintenance/ Facilities manager to receive training and be competent in all the “Desired Skills” listed above. Willingness to learn is a must.


Salary and Benefits:

  • Pay* Starting pay range from $34,800 - $48,000
