About Us

Rhythm is all about creating epic experiences for our customers and that starts with our people. We live by our values and put our people first. We take pride in creating both working and living environments that foster innovation, adventure, and balance. Working at Rhythm is more than a job, it's an experience you will have forever.

The Role

As a Bike Mechanic, you will be responsible for keeping the wheels turning in our Niseko, Hakuba, and Furano workshops. You must diagnose and fix bike issues like a pro and provide expert tune-ups to transform rides. Additionally, you must be a customer champion, share your passion, and maintain a workshop that shines.

Your Daily Grind (minus the, well, grind):

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of bike issues, from flat tires and worn chains to complex suspension problems and drivetrain overhauls.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks like tune-ups, brake bleeds, and suspension adjustments, ensuring every bike performs flawlessly.
  • Build new bikes from the ground up, ensuring precise assembly and customer satisfaction.
  • Advise customers on bike selection, maintenance, and upgrades, sharing your expertise and passion for the sport.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, keeping tools and inventory in top shape.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest mountain bike technologies and trends, constantly enhancing your knowledge.

Beyond the Basics:

  • Welcome customers with a smile and infectious enthusiasm.
  • Participate in inventory management and restocking procedures.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and new product releases.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Be open to learning new skills and taking on additional responsibilities.

What you’ll need to succeed

To truly excel as a bike mechanic, you need a blend of talent and passion. Understanding bikes like the back of your hand and performing repairs with meticulous precision are essential. But beyond the tools, you'll need a knack for solving puzzles, quickly diagnosing issues and crafting unique fixes for each bike's quirks. Nimble fingers, sharp hand-eye coordination, and the physical stamina to tackle your day on your feet are crucial. However, the most vital tools in your toolbox are a genuine passion for cycling; as technology evolves and bikes transform, staying updated on new components and trends becomes key. Both Japanese and English language skills are highly desirable.

The Perks and Benefits

As a Rhythm employee, you will be shown the same hospitality that we give our customers. We love to look after our crew and these are just a few additional benefits you will enjoy working with us:

  • The opportunity to live work and play in one of the world's snowiest ski resorts by winter, and a green outdoor haven by summer.
  • Work for one of the best companies in the industry who know what it means to have fun and truly love what we do.
  • Competitive pay rates, an employee bonus program, and a subsidized lift pass in the winter.
  • A variety of shift patterns to get you out exploring.
  • Subsidized staff accommodation and housing assistance.
  • Team social activities, staff parties and events, team ride days, resort trips, department dinners, and much more.
  • Access to other great benefits such as the Rhythm Wellness program, free ski, snowboard and bike demo, epic store discounts for you and your friends and family.
  • Wellness initiatives include access to fruit, vitamins, yoga classes, and an employee assistance program (EAP) for your mental well-being.

We put the "play" in workplace. Sure, we work hard, but we believe in celebrating our achievements together in epic style. Don't just take our word for it – ask any Rhythm alumni! They'll tell you this isn't just a benefits package, it's an unforgettable experience fueled by our vibrant and fun company culture.
