Head Route Setter

Basin Climbing and Fitness is a brand new rock climbing gym in Waco, Texas. We are seeking a full time Head Setter to develop and direct our route setting program. In doing so, you will play a major role in the development of Basin’s culture, community, and climbing experience. This will be an extremely collaborative process, and we expect you to take part in shaping your own role and responsibilities. We have created a job description for what we currently imagine will compose your initial areas of responsibility, but we are seeking someone who is flexible and willing to grow with the business. Mission:

At Basin Climbing and Fitness, our mission is to champion connection, fitness, adventure, and growth for all by providing an exceptional facility, dynamic programming, and empowering service.

Responsibilities:

Route Planning and Management–

You will be directly responsible for the main product Basin has to offer– our climbing routes. You will be working directly with our managers, owners, and part time staff to cultivate the climbing experience at Basin.

Staff Management–

You will be responsible for route setting staff hiring, training, and retention in coordination with the General Manager. You will help to cultivate an exceptional team. You will be the point person for all matters involving the setting program.

Facility Maintenance–

You will be responsible for working with the other managers to ensure proper structuring, scheduling, delegating, and recording of required facility and equipment maintenance.

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of route setting experience

Preferred experience:

• 3+ years of staff management experience
• Experience as a head route setter
• USAC Level 2 route setter certification

Compensation:

Full Time Salaried position, 40+ hours per week

40k+ annually

6k annual benefits rate to start
