Packaging Engineer Internship, Remington Ammunition

Job Description

Remington Ammunition is looking for a student Packaging Engineer Intern for our Lonoke, AR location for the summer 2024.

Mentoring with Remington Ammunition's Packaging Product Manager, the Packaging Engineer Intern will train on the processes and engage them each day to prepare/document packaging artwork and engineering notices for drawings, processes, products, and artwork. Will also collaborate with each Value Stream on various packaging products, gathering their input and working to resolve pack-line challenges. Will utilize the EDI and the MAX/ERP system each day to find and manage packaging data, UPC’s, hazardous materials classification, pallet & units, inventories, purchase orders and product details.

As the Packaging Engineer Intern, you will work beside the Ammunition Packaging Product Manager and have the opportunity to:

• Provide technical assistance in a manner that:
  • Assist in minimizes manufacturing downtime, due to process upsets, new product/packaging introductions, new processes, and process improvements.
  • Maximizes efforts of the production, maintenance, and engineering resources
• Provide assistance with:
  • Package engineering / development
  • Package testing as needed per DOT, UN, ASTM ISTA guidelines
  • Graphic development and proof reading

You have:

• 3 years of college, or within one year of graduating with a bachelor’s degree or higher in packaging science, engineering, logistics, or food science
• 0-2 years of experience
• Knowledge of computer drafting programs
• Excellent math and science skills
• Ability to write technical documents
• Knowledge of packaging needs
