Youth Dynamics Ministry Experience Internship


Position Overview:

If you are looking for a short-term missionary experience or if you are unsure if a permanent ministry position is for you, this internship through Youth Dynamics might just be the opportunity for you. Here at Youth Dynamics, we offer a 3-18 month internship that allows you to learn and minister alongside seasoned staff. This is a ministry experience internship that will focus on your faith journey and leadership development.  This is an unpaid internship, although you do have the option of raising a small monthly stipend ($0-$1000).


Purpose:

This internship aims to focus on your personal growth and ministry experience. You will get a first-hand experience of the many facets of Youth Dynamics and its focus on Relational Adventure Ministry. This is a great way to explore if full-time ministry with Youth Dynamics or some other organization is in your future.


Goals and Requirements:

  1. Application Deadline: 2 months prior to the start of the Internship
  2. Support raising
    1. Attending a Support Raising Solutions Boot Camp if the internship is longer than 6 months
    2. Raising around $400-$2000 per month.  (This covers training and ministry expenses as well as a small monthly stipend.) 
    3. Part of support raising will be done before coming to Youth Dynamics and finishing the process will be the focus at the start of the internship.
    4. Meet regularly with a fundraising coach for encouragement & accountability. 
  3. Attending Stonewater Adventure School, a 5-week wilderness and discipleship course for internships longer than 9 months.
  4. The internship can also include summer staff at an Adventures Base.
  5. Weekly meetings and reports with your supervisor/mentor.
    1. Filling out a weekly evaluation and personal development plan
    2. The supervisor/mentor will also fill out a weekly report 
    3. Weekly meetings will be focused on these reports and development
  6. Reading a minimum of 1 book per quarter, with quarterly book reports.
  7. Visiting a minimum of 4 different areas (Communities or Adventure Bases) of Youth Dynamics.
    1. A visit will include meeting Youth Dynamics staff and participating in a youth program to understand how they are living out the mission of Youth Dynamics in their specific area.  This can be done together with all the interns in your cohort.


Personal Expectations:

A relationship with Jesus and a desire to serve Him by helping youth discover life in Christ.

A desire to live and work in a community, to invest in relationships, and has a teachable spirit.

Strongly recommended that you have a car for personal transportation.

Must be at least 18 years. Recommended age is 18-25 years old. 


Provided:

Room and board will be provided. This varies from staff housing to living with a host family.
